Share

President Biden’s Executive Order on the Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence directed agencies across the federal government to take a wide range of actions intended to help seize the opportunities presented by AI as well as manage the associated risks. In this webinar, members of our AI Task Force will explore significant actions taken in the six months since the Executive Order was issued on October 30, 2023, and explain what they may mean for private sector companies.

Key actions discussed in this webinar include:

  • The OMB memo on AI governance and risk management;
  • Required reporting under the Defense Production Act;
  • A report by the Treasury Department on AI specific cyber risks in the financial sector;
  • A rule proposed by the Bureau of Industry and Security, within the Department of Commerce, on customer verification;
  • Recent guidance from NIST on a range of AI risk management topics; and
  • DHS guidance on AI and critical infrastructure.

We also take a look ahead at remaining actions to be taken under the EO, as well as other key dynamics likely to shape US AI policy in the coming months.
