Experience
Lee Rubin is an litigator who focuses on both civil and criminal defense. He joined Mayer Brown in 1997, initially practicing as a member of the firm’s Washington, DC office and, since 2004, with its Palo Alto office.
Lee has an extensive and diverse background as a trial lawyer. He held positions as an Assistant United States Attorney with the US Attorney's Office in Washington, DC (1996–1997) and as a Special Assistant US Attorney (1995–1996). Earlier, he served as Trial Attorney with the Civil Rights Division of the US Department of Justice, first with the Division’s Voting Section (1989–1992) and, from 1992 to 1995, with its Criminal Section.
