Article - Pro Bono, Europe

Summer 2005 - The idea for the Brussels Pro Bono Project first arose from a meeting between Sue Bucknall, the CEO of the Solicitors Pro Bono Group, and Andrew Jackson and Julie Dickins of our London office in February 2004, when Andrew was about to go to the Brussels office for the last six months of his training contract. Andrew was keen to undertake some pro bono work whilst in Brussels but it was not known whether there were any available pro bono opportunities for UK lawyers. Sue Bucknall suggested that Andrew could research those opportunities in conjunction with other trainee solicitors in Brussels on behalf of the SPBG.
