Our New York office is the firm's second largest US office. Established in 1978 with just one lawyer, the office has steadily grown to more than 200 lawyers through the selective, individual recruitment of experienced attorneys and recent law school graduates. Lawyers in the New York office regularly handle local, national, and international matters for a diverse client base in a broad range of industries.

As a major economic center, New York is home to the world's largest financial exchanges by dollar volume and by number of listings, claiming more Fortune 500 companies and foreign corporations than any other US city. Within this vital and vibrant location, our New York office functions as the focal point of the firm's global practice, serving as the hub of our transatlantic work, and providing our clients with an essential corridor among the key business and financial centers of the world.

The office houses practitioners from all of the firm's practice areas and features leading transactional and litigation work. The office is connected to all major financial markets, and our banking and finance group is recognized as an active player in the acquisition and syndicated finance field, with internationally renowned securitization and capital markets practitioners.

Corporate lawyers in our New York office are as regarded for their counsel as for their deal making, and are particularly sought after for mergers and acquisitions and private equity matters. Our real estate and tax transaction practices are highly ranked and the firm's nationally recognized bankruptcy and creditors' rights practice is housed out of the New York office.

Litigators in the New York office are experienced in a wide-range of practices and industries, including globally recognized antitrust, tax controversy, and securities practices. Additionally, our appellate lawyers in New York have argued more Supreme Court cases than any other attorneys in private practice.
