The Mayer Brown Oil & Gas Lawyers’ Forum was a webinar series, held regularly during 2020 and 2021 and hosted by Oil & Gas lawyers from the firm’s London office.
At a time of unprecedented challenges and significant change for the oil & gas sector, the Forum addressed topics of interest for lawyers working in the industry. In 2020, we covered Force Majeure, distressed counter-parties, financing and refinancing for oil & gas projects (including breaches of covenants, prolonged defaults and preparing for a debt restructuring), and considered oil & gas M&A, the future for the North Sea, oil & gas markets in Latin America, Treaty Arbitration, ESG in today’s oil & gas industry and the fast-moving topic of sanctions. In 2021, our topics included the UK National Security & Investment Bill, Global LNG Trends, Cyber Risk within the sector and other market overviews.
