Mayer Brown: A top 10 firm in Financial Times’ 2020 list of most innovative law firms in North America
Mayer Brown announced today that the Financial Times has ranked Mayer Brown as one of the top 10 “Most Innovative Law Firms” in the publication’s 2020 report, “North America Innovative Lawyers.” Ranked at #8 this year, Mayer Brown has been recognized in the report each year that it has been published.
Mayer Brown also ranked among the top 20 “Most digital firms,” based on use of data and technology. The report highlighted the firm’s collaboration with Société Générale to develop an artificial intelligence product, Theolex. The tool analyzes current and future enforcement risks by using publicly available negotiated settlement agreements with enforcement authorities and collecting them in a single database, helping clients reduce legal costs in cross-border multi-agency regulatory investigations by up to 10 percent.
Additionally, the report named Liz Stern as one of the “Top 10 Most Innovative Legal Practitioners” for her efforts in harnessing technology to guide businesses through COVID-19. At the outset of the pandemic, Ms. Stern, the leader of the firm’s Global Mobility & Migration practice, mobilized Mayer Brown’s COVID-19 Global Response Team. Under her leadership, the firm created a support platform that helps clients across industries, markets and sectors understand the latest legal developments and access information to make critical business decisions.
The firm was also named a finalist in the “Finance — unlocking capital” and “Digitising the practice of law” categories.
For the 2020 report, over 200 submissions were evaluated and researched by RSG Consulting, including extensive interviews with clients, lawyers, executives and experts.
