Mayer Brown and partner Brian Kittle recognized at ITR Americas Tax Awards 2021
Mayer Brown advised on a transaction named an “Impact Deal of the Year” at International Tax Review’s 16th annual Americas Tax Awards. In addition, New York partner Brian Kittle, co-leader of the firm’s Tax Controversy Practice, was named “Practice Leader of the Year” in the North America Tax Litigation and Disputes category.
Mayer Brown’s representation of Square, Inc. in its acquisition of Credit Karma Tax represented the “Impact Deal of the Year.” The firm advised on the tax privacy and compliance aspects of the deal and the post-acquisition integration of the Credit Karma Tax product into Square’s Cash App mobile payment service. The team included Tax Controversy partner Paul DiSangro (NorCal); State & Local Tax partner Leah Robinson; and Tax Transactions & Consulting partner Dan Kiely (both New York) and senior counsel Cabell Chinnis (NorCal).
