Mayer Brown continues growth of fund finance team with Alex Righi in Chicago
Mayer Brown announced today that Alex Righi has rejoined the Banking & Finance practice as a partner in Chicago. Mr. Righi’s practice focuses primarily on private equity fund finance. He joins from Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
“We have been expanding our capabilities to match the increase in client demand for fund financings—Alex’s experience representing financial institutions, direct lenders and borrowers in connection with a wide range of US and cross-border financing transactions makes him an ideal fit to support clients in their most challenging matters,” said Paul Jorissen, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Banking & Finance practice.
Mr. Righi has extensive experience representing a wide array of investment funds, corporate borrowers, and domestic and foreign financial institutions in a variety of secured and unsecured financing transactions, including syndicated and bilateral subscription-backed credit facilities, domestic and cross-border fund-of-fund financings, management company working capital and dividend recapitalization financings, bilateral loans, bridge loans, acquisition and asset-based financings, and other tailored financing arrangements.
“The decision to return to Mayer Brown was easy, it’s where I began my career and it feels great to be back home,” said Mr. Righi. “I'm excited to not only be able to bring my extensive fund finance experience to one of the world’s premier law firms and fund finance practices, but to also reinforce and contribute to Mayer Brown’s unique, welcoming and supportive atmosphere and approach to legal representation.”
“Alex is known and respected by a number of our clients and we are delighted to welcome him back to the firm,” said Debra Ernst-Bogo, the managing partner of Mayer Brown’s Chicago office. “Alex’s extensive experience representing both borrowers and lenders in a variety of transactions will immediately benefit our clients.”
