Jeremiah DeBerry honored with Profiles in Diversity Journal's "Black Leadership Award"

Mayer Brown partner and Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Jeremiah (Jerry) DeBerry has been honored with the 2022 “Black Leadership Award” by Profiles in Diversity Journal. This award recognizes individuals who display “exceptional talent and skill, a commitment to excellence, a passion for mentoring and advocating for the next generation, and an ongoing involvement with the larger community,” according to the publication.

A thought leader and active proponent of diversity in the legal profession for more than 20 years, Jerry oversees all aspects of Mayer Brown’s efforts to recruit, hire, develop and promote diverse and women lawyers. He serves on the firm’s global partner promotion committee to ensure that diversity, equity and inclusion principles are incorporated into partner promotion decisions. He is responsible for the development and implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion policies for all of the firm’s US offices.
