London – Mayer Brown has advised leading European hygiene specialist WEPA Hygieneprodukte on its acquisition of Star Tissue UK, a prominent British hygiene paper provider. The newly acquired entity will operate under the name ‘WEPA Professional UK’.

The transaction also means customers will benefit from an expansion of WEPA Group’s product portfolio and an international production network extending to the UK and 12 other locations in Europe.

Based in Germany, WEPA Hygieneprodukte is one of the largest European hygiene paper manufacturers and a leader in the production of paper from recycled fibres, offering sustainable and innovative hygiene solutions throughout Europe.

Star Tissue UK is a leading independent manufacturer of hygiene paper products. With over 130 employees, its Blackburn site produces a wide range of widely known tissue products including the Sirius, Bliss, Kleenall and Softelle brands.
