Tauil & Chequer Advogados advised Parsan on debt refinancing through a BRL 3.2 billion debenture issuance

Tauil & Chequer Advogados associated with Mayer Brown advised Parsan on the issuance of BRL 3.2 billion in debentures to refinance the debt incurred to facilitate the privatization of Companhia Riograndense de Saneamento (Corsan), the first privatization of a state-owned sanitation company in Brazil. Parsan is a consortium formed by Aegea, the largest private sanitation company in Brazil, and asset management firms Kinea and Perfin.
The issuance was carried out with a syndicate of eight of the country's leading private banks (Itaú BBA, BTG Pactual, Safra, XP, Bradesco BBI, Santander, Citi, and Banco ABC) leading the transaction. The firm had previously advised Aegea and its partners on structuring the original debt and the Corsan privatization process in 2023.
The transaction was led by partner Luis Montes, with the participation of associates Beatriz Lavigne and Yasmin Rópa, all from the Banking & Finance practice.
