Übersicht
Nick Kohler represents clients in financing of public and private projects through lending transactions, project finance and the issuance of municipal and general obligations bonds, including bonds issued by the City of Chicago, the State of Illinois, and the Philadelphia Authority for Industrial Development. Also, Nick advises Morgan Stanley, as underwriter’s counsel, in the issuance and remarketing of bonds and taxable notes for the benefit of the Brightline Florida and Brightline West passenger rail projects.
In addition, Nick has advised clients on various P3 projects, including the selected developer on the Georgia Department of Transportation’s I-285 / I-20 West Interchange project, a design-build-finance P3 project to address traffic flow at this interchange in DeKalb County, Georgia. Nick also assists on charitable, not-for-profit, government ethics and political contribution matters. Finally, Nick advises several gaming companies on regulatory and licensure matters.
Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Nick served as a mayoral fellow with the City of Chicago’s Mayor’s Office where he gained experience in governmental policy, sustainability, and vacant lot activation. In addition, Nick served as a legal extern with Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago where he gained experience in corporate governance and healthcare regulatory matters. Prior to law school, Nick worked for eight years at a prominent healthcare software company where he advised hospital systems on designing and configuring their electronic medical records.
