Charles Turner helps clients to understand and defend their compliance with evolving regulatory landscapes that affect their business operations and objectives at the local, state, and federal levels. He applies his government and policy experience to act on both litigation and non-adversarial matters involving consumer protection claims, corporate securities, internal investigations, and business development. He also advises the Firm directly on election law, campaign finance, and lobbying disclosures pursuant to the Political Reform Act.

Before joining Mayer Brown, Charles graduated cum laude from Howard University School of Law. As a law student he gained externship experience at both a federal administrative agency and the dispute resolution arm of an international infrastructure financing institution. Prior to law school, he completed a nationally recognized public affairs fellowship and later served as a policy deputy at the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors.

Charles is also committed to serving the community and enhances his regulatory practice through pro bono work. A small business owner currently relies on his advisement to understand and navigate state and local regulatory requirements related to food safety and public health.
