Virtual

Juneteenth for Algorithmic Liberation: An AI Symposium: (June 18 11:30 am – 6:00 pm EDT): Join the Flatrion School for a pioneering symposium dedicated to unpacking the intricacies of Artificial Intelligence and its implications for marginalized communities.

On Juneteenth: Special Event with Annette Gordon-Reed (June 19, 1pm – 2pm EDT): In celebration and commemoration of Juneteenth, the American Family Insurance DreamBank, in partnership with AmFam Group’s Black/African American Business Resource Group, are honored to feature Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard, Annette Gordon-Reed for a conversation on the history and legacy of Juneteenth.

Juneteenth Spoken Word Open Mic (June 19, 7 - 8pm EDT): Share your own original work or support artists during this online celebration of Juneteenth.

JUNETEENTH 2024! International Art Exhibition Gallery Talk No.1 (June 19, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm EDT): ArtImpact will host 27 artists who will join in celebrating the enduring spirit of Juneteenth through their powerful artistic expressions. Artists will speak on their work and answer audience questions.

Charlotte

Houston

Children's Museum Houston (June 19, 9am – 5pm): This museum will be honoring Juneteenth with drumming, storytelling, dramatization and interactive activities.

Wells Fargo Presents Juneteenth: A Musical Journey Through Eras (June 14 – 15): This event will take you on a musical journey through Black history. Tickets become available on the website on June 15 at 10am; performance will be livestreamed.

Los Angeles

Juneteenth 4th Annual Celebration and Resource Fair (June 21, 4pm – 8pm) Connect with community members and dive into the history of Juneteenth with County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell.

Juneteenth Celebration (June 15, 10:30 am – 3 pm): The California African American Museum will host an number of wellness and family activities to celebrate Juneteenth.

New York

New York and Virtual: 14th Annual Juneteenth 2024 (June 13 – 19): A four–day long celebration you can join online or in person to celebrate the community through empowerment, health and wellness, education, and entertainment.

Juneteenth Celebration with Harlem Grown (June 22, 10 am – 3 pm) Harlem Grown’s FIRST Juneteenth Celebration is a farm party to honor Blackness and its cultural roots in Harlem. Come celebrate Juneteenth for family-friendly activities. This event will commemorate this day while we educate, empower, and elevate our community.

Palo Alto

Juneteenth Festival in Los Altos (June 22, 12pm – 5pm): Justice Vanguard hosts a celebration featuring art, wine, music, food, games and more.

Juneteenth Celebration and Black–Owned Business Expo (June 19, 10am – 10pm): SLC’s official Juneteenth celebration features exhibits, entertainment, roller skating, events for kids, and more, spotlighting Utah’s Black community.

San Francisco

San Francisco Black Film Festival (June 13 – 16): A festival celebrating African American cinema and showcasing films representing the diversity in the African diaspora.

Juneteenth SF Freedom Celebration in the Fillmore Jazz District (June 15, 11am – 6pm): An afternoon filled with live music, entertainment, carnival games and rides, artisan marketplace, food vendors, and a hair/fashion show.

Washington DC

NMAAHC Juneteenth Community Day Celebration (June 15, 11am – 4:30 pm) The Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) will host a community day themed “Freedom, Movement, and Migration.”
