This Fireside Chat will explore how General Counsels can work proactively with the organization’s leadership in coping with the reality of digitalization.

Speakers:

Gabriela Kennedy is a member of the Executive Committee of ITechLaw and Immediate Past President. Gabriela is a partner of Mayer Brown and co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice as well as head of the Asia IP and TMT group and co-leader of the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice. Based in Hong Kong, she advises multinational companies on a variety of technology, data privacy and data security issues in the context of complex technology projects, business processing outsourcing and the cross-border transfer of data, and advocates and before regulators in data breaches and cybersecurity incident response cases. A former theoretical linguist who specialised in computational linguistics, she speaks a number of European languages including English, French, Spanish, Italian, Romanian and Portuguese and has a keen interest in machine learning and all things relating to AI.

Raphael Lee, Agency for Science, Technology And Research, Singapore

Raphael is the Deputy General Counsel of the Agency for Science Technology And Research, and has been in the legal Intellectual Property field for over twenty years. He has extensive experience advising on and negotiating complex IP technology transfer, licensing, and other commercial biotech, medtech, telecoms, IT, science and engineering transactions. He is also involved in policy work within and beyond A*STAR, and has contributed extensively to Singapore’s National IP Protocol and Human Biomedical Research legislation. On weekends, he can be found chasing down fuzzy yellow balls and his favourite hawker food.

Sue-Ann is the Head of Legal, International Markets at Gojek. 

Gerard Amann, Accenture, Singapore

Gerard F. Amann is a Senior Managing Director and General Counsel, Growth Markets for Accenture, based in Singapore. He is responsible for delivery of all legal services across Asia, Middle East, Latin America, ANZ and Africa. He provides strategic advice to senior business leadership on client engagements, risk management, compliance, and governance, and is a member of the Growth Markets Leadership Team and global Legal Executive Committee. Since joining Accenture in 2005, Gerry has served in a range of roles, including General Counsel, North America and General Counsel, Secretary, and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer of Accenture Federal Services.
