FCRA in Focus

Share

From a consumer perspective, credit reporting – and the associated use of consumer information – is among the most consequential aspects of the delivery of consumer financial products and services. Regulatory agencies recognize this through increased examination and enforcement of existing FCRA obligations, as well as ongoing efforts to expand and modernize FCRA’s regulatory scope.

In this webinar, Mayer Brown partners Eric Mitzenmacher and Christa Bieker will address key considerations for users of consumers reports and those who furnish information to consumer reporting agencies. They’ll also discuss rulemaking and guidance developments affecting the use of information from data brokers and marketing service providers, credit header information, and other areas on the CFPB’s radar.

Other discussion topics include:

  • Key areas of focus for regulatory agencies examining for — or investigating — compliance with FCRA obligations, including shifting standards for reasonable policies and procedures and Metro 2 compliance
  • Rulemaking and pre-rulemaking activities by the CFPB with respect to the scope of — and obligations under — FCRA and Regulation V
  • Intersections between FCRA compliance and UDAAP risk mitigation
