Mayer Brown announced that Intellectual Property partners Alan Grimaldi and Gary Hnath (Washington DC) have been named to the inaugural IAM Global Leaders 2020 list in the “United States: DC Metro Area” category. This list recognizes elite IP professionals for their ability to “innovate, inspire and go above and beyond to deliver for their clients.”
Mr. Grimaldi has extensive trial experience in both offensive and defensive patent and other IP litigation, including mediation and arbitration. He has represented IP clients in the consumer goods, smartphone, health care, chemical, electronics, automotive, banking, defense, energy & oil, and drug industries. In addition, Mr. Grimaldi was a co-leader of the firm's global Intellectual Property practice for six years.
Mr. Hnath is an experienced trial attorney who has participated in numerous district court cases, several Federal Circuit appeals, and over 40 investigations at the International Trade Commission under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930, one of the principal forums for litigating IP disputes involving imported articles. A leading authority in the area of Section 337 litigation, Mr. Hnath is a former president of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association and chair of the ITC Committee of the American Intellectual Property Law Association. In addition to Mr. Hnath’s IP trial experience, he is highly skilled at coordinating global IP strategies for clients.
