Mayer Brown expands Corporate & Securities practice in Hong Kong by eight lawyers
Mayer Brown announced today that four leading capital markets partners, Guiping Lu and Philip Hyde, have joined the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice in Hong Kong, along with four lawyers.
The prominent debt capital markets team led by Mr. Lu and Mr. Hyde join from K&L Gates.
Their arrival further bolsters Mayer Brown's award winning capital markets team in Hong Kong, as the firm continues to grow a prominent and globally integrated capital markets product offering in the key financial centers of New York, London and Hong Kong.

Today’s announcement follows on from the recent addition of Oil & Gas partner Joanne Du from Baker Botts to the broader Corporate & Securities practice in Hong Kong.
Brief information for each of the new partners as follows:
Guiping Lu – Mr. Lu’s practice is primarily focused on international debt capital markets transactions. He has built a strong debt capital markets practice over the years, mostly representing Chinese investment banks on Regulation S investment-grade bond offerings with different credit enhancement structures and liability management transactions. He also advises on high-yield bond offerings.
Philip Hyde – An accomplished lawyer for more than 25 years, Mr. Hyde is experienced advising on a range of debt capital markets, structured finance, derivatives, and securitisation transactions. He represents a wide range of clients, with a particular focus on advising trustees on all aspects of their transactions, from their initial appointment on new issues, their ongoing obligations throughout the term of the transaction, restructurings or amendments to actions following a default.
