Five Mayer Brown partners recognized as 2022 “Women Leaders” by IFLR1000

Five Mayer Brown partners have been named to IFLR1000 Women Leaders 2022, four in the Americas guide and one in the Asia-Pacific edition. IFLR1000 Women Leaders recognizes leading female transactional lawyers globally with impressive track records who have been consistently recommended by clients and peers for the quality of their advice and service.

The 2022 honorees are:

  • Julie Gillespie, Banking & Finance (Chicago)
    Ms. Gillespie was ranked as “Highly Regarded” in the Capital Markets: Structured Finance and Securitization category. Ms. Gillespie is a co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Structured Finance practice. She has extensive experience representing commercial banks, ABCP conduits, originators, sponsors and investors in structuring, negotiating and documenting asset-backed and other structured finance transactions.
  • Hannah Ha, Corporate & Securities (Hong Kong)
    Ms. Ha was ranked as “Highly Regarded” in the Competition and M&A categories by the IFLR1000. A leader of Mayer Brown’s Mergers & Acquisition Team in Asia, Ms. Ha focuses her practice on mergers and acquisitions. She has extensive experience in foreign direct investment in China, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and general corporate and commercial matters. She is also a co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Antitrust & Competition Team in Asia.
  • Carol Hitselberger, Banking & Finance (Charlotte)
    Ms. Hitselberger was ranked as “Highly Regarded” in the Capital Markets: Structured Finance and Securitization category. A co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance practice, she focuses her practice in the structured finance area. She spends significant time on accounting and regulatory developments that impact the structured finance industry.
  • Anna Pinedo, Corporate & Securities (New York)
    Ms. Pinedo was recognized as a “Market Leader” for Capital Markets by IFLR1000, the guide’s highest individual distinction. Specifically, she was ranked in six categories: Capital Markets, Capital Markets: Debt, Capital Markets: High Yield, Capital Markets: Equity, Capital Markets: Structured Finance and Securitization, and Capital Markets: Derivatives. Ms. Pinedo is a co-leader of the firm’s Global Capital Markets practice. She concentrates her practice on securities and derivatives, representing issuers, investment banks/financial intermediaries and investors in financing transactions, including public offerings and private placements of equity and debt securities, as well as structured notes and other hybrid and structured products.
  • Elizabeth Raymond, Corporate & Securities (Chicago)
    Ms. Raymond was ranked as “Highly Regarded” in the M&A category. As a co-leader of Mayer Brown’s Financial Institutions M&A and Fintech groups, Ms. Raymond focuses on M&A for financial institutions, including commercial and investment banks, finance companies, insurance companies, asset managers and broker-dealers, and private equity and hedge funds that invest in financial service businesses.


Ms. Hitselberger, Ms. Pinedo and Ms. Raymond have been included in the guide every year since its inception in 2018. Additionally, this marks the third consecutive year that Ms. Ha has been recognized.
