London — Mayer Brown today announced Victoria Thompson joined its Banking & Finance practice as a partner in London, where she will focus on domestic and cross-border secured lending and restructuring transactions with a particular focus on asset-based lending, receivables and supply chain finance, special situations, and distressed debt funding.

Victoria, who is dually qualified to practice in New York and England and Wales, joins from Morgan Lewis, where she was a partner.

“Victoria is an experienced finance and restructuring lawyer whose combination of domestic and cross-border finance and secured transactions, ABL, global trade financing and restructuring and special situation capabilities fits squarely with the uptick in client demand for complex financing solutions across different product lines and multiple jurisdictions,” said Alex Dell, co-head of Mayer Brown’s Banking & Finance practice.

Victoria has wide ranging experience acting for all classes of investors including banks, non-bank financial institutions, alternative lenders and credit funds, hedge funds and asset managers, and frequently works with clients and other lawyers in the US and throughout Europe, Asia and the Middle East across a number of industries and sectors.

“Having Victoria on the ground in London reaffirms our position as the foremost, Tier 1, law firm for finance and ABL work and will deepen our relationships with many existing global banking clients as well as private credit funds and asset managers,” said Dominic Griffiths, Mayer Brown’s London managing partner.
