Tauil & Chequer Advogados advises Estre Ambiental on biogas sale agreement with Orizon

Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advised Estre Ambiental S.A. on the completion of a strategic partnership with Orizon Valorização de Resíduos S.A. for biogas exploitation from landfills located in Fazenda Rio Grande, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, Paraná, and Guatapará, in the metropolitan area of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, both owned by Estre.
Under the agreement, Orizon will purchase all biogas produced by these two Estre-owned landfills over a period of 20 years. The combined estimated daily production is 170,000 m³ of biomethane. The biomethane plants to be installed at the landfills will be 100% owned by Orizon and are expected to begin operations by 2027.
The transaction was led by partner Bruno Werneck, with the participation of associate Sarah Ferreira, both from the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice.
