Tauil and Chequer Advogados advised Multivix shareholders on the sale of control to Galileo Global Education
Tauil & Chequer Advogados advised a group of shareholders on the sale of control of the Multivix university group, based in Espírito Santo, to Galileo Global Education, one of the largest higher education networks in Europe. The transaction was carried out in collaboration with Vinci Partners.
Multivix’s management will remain under the leadership of the Penina family, which will retain a minority stake in the group. Multivix operates six colleges and a university center in Espírito Santo, as well as 310 distance learning hubs across Brazil, serving approximately 60,000 students in total.
With this transaction, which is still subject to review and approval by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), among other precedent conditions, Multivix becomes Galileo's primary asset in Brazil.
The team was led by partner Bruno Werneck, with the support of associate Rafael Fischman Hochman, both from the Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions practice.
