Chicago, March 3, 2025 – Mayer Brown announced today that Veronica Glick has rejoined the firm as a partner in its global Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice and National Security practice. Veronica, who will be based in Chicago, most recently served as senior advisor to the Bureau of Cyberspace and Digital Policy in the US Department of State and as a legislative fellow with the Office of Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

"We are thrilled to welcome Veronica back to Mayer Brown at such a crucial time for businesses,” said Raj De, leader of the Cybersecurity & Data Privacy practice and the National Security practice. “As companies face an increasingly strained global environment, our experience addressing complex cyberattacks and the associated litigation, regulatory, and reputational challenges is more critical than ever. Veronica's return reflects our commitment to supporting our clients through these dynamic times with practical and effective legal strategies."

Veronica’s practice focuses on the intersection of cybersecurity and national security law, including cross-border cyber incidents and other security challenges faced by global businesses, especially those concerning emerging technologies and artificial intelligence. During her tenure with the US Department of State, Veronica leveraged her private sector experience to help develop the State Department’s cybersecurity policies and plans. She regularly collaborated with the White House National Security Council on global cyber incidents. In her role with Senator Gillibrand’s Office, Veronica provided guidance on cybersecurity and emerging technologies and helped draft bipartisan legislation aimed at securing US agriculture from cybersecurity threats. Her extensive background in both the public and private sectors, combined with her insight into multilateral processes and international relations, gives her a unique perspective on the complex issues at the nexus of cybersecurity and national security, enabling her to deliver tailored and effective solutions to clients.

"I joined Mayer Brown in 2017, drawn by the reputation of Raj and the firm’s market leading cyber and national security practices, and my experience exceeded my expectations,” said Veronica. “Now, I'm excited to rejoin the firm at such a pivotal time in the industry, as we witness the evolution of complex cyberattacks targeting US and allied companies, including those by nation-states. As the global landscape is becoming more fraught, it is increasingly important for businesses to be prepared for, and respond effectively, to legal, commercial, and reputational challenges associated with cybersecurity and emerging technologies.”

“We are delighted to have Veronica rejoin the firm and to welcome her to the Chicago office,” said Joanna Horsnail, the managing partner of Mayer Brown's Chicago office. “Her extensive experience and deep understanding of both cybersecurity and national security issues will be invaluable to our clients. Veronica's ability to navigate complex international cyber incidents and her strategic insights into emerging technologies will significantly enhance our capabilities. Her addition to the team underscores our commitment to the continued growth of our Chicago office and our dedication to providing top-tier legal services."
