Overview

Joanna Nicholas is a partner in Mayer Brown’s Structured Finance/Securitization group with a particular focus on collateralized loan obligations (CLOs).

Joanna has extensive experience advising collateral managers, arrangers and investors in new issue CLOs, resets, refinancings and warehouse facilities and other sophisticated financings, including collateralized fund obligations (CFOs).

Joanna works closely with her clients, such as Golub, Nuveen, Barclays, and Citigroup to lead complex transactions. Her commitment to outstanding service was highlighted in Legal 500, where a client noted: “(Ryan Suda and) Joanna Nicholas are the hardest working lawyers with the best attention to detail of any lawyers working in the CLO space.”

Joanna has spent her entire law firm career in the New York and Chicago offices of Mayer Brown and has also been in-house counsel at United Airlines.
