Christopher Ong Wen Rong

Christopher (Chris) advises clients on the sale and purchase of LNG across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. Chris has experience advising on long-term and spot transactions for the sale and purchase of LNG, LNG tenders, LNG futures contracts, regulatory matters and LNG carrier charterparties.

He also has experience advising on trade finance and derivatives transactions.

• Represented a subsidiary of a US financial institution in reviewing, amending and negotiating LNG MSPAs with more than 20 counterparties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas.
• Advised a Russian LNG producer on long-term SPAs with various counterparties in Asia.
• Advised a commodity exchange on an exchange-traded LNG futures contract.
• Advised shipowners and charterers of LNG carriers on the extension of the EU Emissions Trading System to the shipping sector.
• Advised EU-based LNG importers and a commodity exchange on the impact of the EU’s Methane Regulation on LNG imports.
• Advised a Russian LNG producer on time and voyage charterparties for LNG carriers.
