Overview
David Saye is a partner in Mayer Brown's Real Estate practice and serves as lead for the practice in the Charlotte office. He has a diverse real estate practice in the areas of real estate financing, corporate real estate, commercial leasing, real estate acquisitions and dispositions, and development. He represents developers, financial institutions, pension funds, private equity funds, real estate investment trusts, real estate operating companies, and corporations in connection with construction and permanent loan financing, new developments, dispositions, joint ventures, leasing and acquisitions. These real estate projects have included office, hotel, casino, residential, retail, industrial and mixed-use buildings. In 2014, he was named to Charlotte Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40,” an annual list which recognizes “Charlotte’s best and brightest young professionals for the strides they are making in their careers as well as their civic contributions.” He has been recognized by Law360 as a "Rising Star” and praised by Legal 500 for his “in-depth knowledge of the issues and relationships with regulatory agencies to move projects along.”

Represented an institutional lender in a series of amendments of a $7 billion credit facility for a large casino/hotel operator secured by casinos and hotels located in multiple states.

Represented an institutional lender in the restructuring of a $1.8 billion construction loan facility for a casino/resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, which is the largest ever private construction project in North America.

Represented an institutional lender in a $360 million syndicated loan to a national foodservice distributor secured by offices and warehouses located in multiple states.

Represented an institutional lender in a $300 million syndicated loan to a domestic food production company secured by offices, warehouses and manufacturing facilities in multiple states.

Represented an institutional lender in a $200 million syndicated loan to a national homebuilder secured by single-family developments located in multiple states.
