D&O Claims: Coverage and Claims Handling Issues

Hong Kong insurance team partner TL Lim and senior associate Minerva Lee delivered a D&O seminar to a reputable insurance company on 17 November 2020, titled “D&O Claims: Coverage and Claims Handling Issues". The training session lasted three and a half hours, and covered their general legal knowledge as well as the Firm's previous experience in the form of specific case studies. Our speakers kicked off the training by outlining the triggers for D&O insurance policies, and then discussed key exclusions of D&O claims. They continued to talk about D&O claims by discussing key conditions for such policies. After a short break, the seminar resumed where they then analysed general principles of claims handling, case management, and monitoring. Moving on from the general to the particular, the speakers highlighted cases which could help the management to understand the law in action in jurisdictions across the globe.
