Giles Clifford, senior associate, advises private equity and corporate clients on a wide range of transactional matters, including cross-border M&A, joint ventures, growth and venture capital investments, special situations and complex corporate restructurings.  Giles joined the Mayer Brown Private Equity team in 2024 from a leading international law firm.

Representative experience includes advising:

• Keensight Capital on its acquisition of Metacompliance from Tenzing Private Equity.
• Qodea (a Portfolio Company of Marlin Equity Partners) on its acquisition of cybersecurity business Tmc3.
• First Sentier Investors on its acquisition of a majority take in Albacore Capital.*
• APG on its joint-venture acquisition of PBSA portfolio Scape Living, alongside Blackstone Private Equity (Highly Commended M&A Team of the Year (Medium Deal) at The British Legal Awards 2022).*
• His Majesty's Government, in its capacity as a major shareholder of OneWeb, on its merger with Eutelsat.*
• Paine Schwartz Partners on its acquisition of Kynetec from Inflexion Private Equity Partners, and numerous subsequent bolt-on acquisitions.*
• Oakley Capital on the sale of the atHome Group to Mayfair Equity Partners.*
