Thomas M. Vitale

Tom Vitale is senior counsel in Mayer Brown’s Corporate & Securities practice. Resident in the New York office, Tom has been a partner with the firm since 1991. Tom’s practice encompasses a broad range of transactional and advisory assignments, mostly in the area of private equity investment. Tom advises private funds and their portfolio companies in investment, acquisition and disposition transactions; leveraged recapitalizations and restructurings; public and private financings; and joint ventures and other strategic transactions. Tom’s experience includes investment transactions in many asset classes, including buy-outs, early- and late-stage venture capital, real estate, special situations, media and collectibles. He has represented clients in cross-border investment transactions between the United States and more than fifty countries. Tom also advises fund clients in the formation and internal governance of investment partnerships and advises corporate directors and boards with respect to governance, fiduciary duty and sensitive corporate matters.
