The hire or departure of a team in a raid scenario, which often happens with little or no notice, can lead to several challenges for all parties, including an immediate impact on client and customer relationships, a heavily destabilized business operating in crisis mode, or a business on the receiving end of unlawful recruitment claims.

Most raided businesses do not believe they can fight back to mitigate against potential damage and obtain recompense. But quick and decisive action can protect confidential information, existing business relationships, as well as data - and, at the same time, build a case for financial redress from the competitor.

Experience

We have acted in some of the most significant team move disputes in recent years, across a range of industries for both claimants and defendants.  

For example, in 2023, we acted for the claimants in the biggest team move case in the London market in decades, resulting in a confidential settlement on the morning of trial. The public elements of the settlement included extensive court undertakings given in favor of our clients to protect their business and a public apology by our clients’ competitor for its admitted unlawful conduct.
