Transactional Liability Insurance Roundtable
Mayer Brown hosted the latest installment of our Transactional Liability Insurance Roundtable on October 24, 2022 in our New York office. Our Roundtables are a chance to take a “deep dive” into the dynamic market for US transactional liability insurance, with a focus on industry professionals and evolving trends, challenges and opportunities in this ecosystem. As always, our Roundtable focused on the industry – underwriters, claims professionals and brokers – and provided a deep dive into current topics and issues that we deal with every day in this dynamic market. This installment of the Roundtable focused on the US market.
The Roundtable featured M&A practitioners and specialists who regularly represent both underwriters and insureds in underwriting and procuring these insurance products as well as litigators who are highly experienced in transactional insurance claims. The Roundtable was hosted by the Mayer Brown Transactional Liability Insurance team and moderated by the co-leaders of the team, Joe Castelluccio (New York), Bill Kucera and Mike Serafini (both Chicago), and featured insights from Tax Transactions & Consulting counsel Michael Kerman; Financial Services & Regulatory Enforcement partner Lauren Pryor (both Washington DC); Private Equity partner Marc Harrison (Chicago) and counsel George Rudy (New York); and Litigation & Dispute Resolution partners Michelle Annunziata (New York) and Bob Harrell and counsel Gary Johnson (both Houston).
The sessions shared perspectives on key topics in the industry, including substantive issues and trends in underwriting representations and warranties insurance; hot topics in for insurers in state and local taxes; RWI coverage for private equity deals and FIG M&A; and issues that frequently give rise to coverage “debate” in representations and warranties claims.
