Mayer Brown strengthens debt capital markets team in London with addition of Peter Pears
London — Mayer Brown has expanded its Capital Markets team in London with the addition of capital markets lawyer Peter Pears, who joins the firm as a partner. He was previously at Clifford Chance.

Peter acts for issuers and underwriters on a range of domestic and international capital markets offerings, including Eurobond, medium term note, commercial paper, regulatory capital, corporate hybrid and liability management transactions. His clients include financial institutions, major corporations, sovereigns, municipalities and supranationals across Africa, Asia, Europe and the United States. Peter has considerable experience in sustainable debt and ESG principles and regularly advises on green, social and sustainable bonds, sustainability-linked bonds and ESG regulatory matters. In addition to his debt capital markets practice, Peter advises on a variety of infrastructure finance transactions, including project bonds, private placements and whole business securitizations.
