Mayer Brown announced today that Allison Lee has joined its Corporate & Securities practice as a partner.

With 15 years’ experience advising public and private companies and private equity firms in connection with cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic investments, distribution arrangements and secondary sale transactions across Asia, Ms. Lee joins from Debevoise & Plimpton where she was a member of the firm's Corporate Department, and Private Equity and M&A Groups in Hong Kong.

"Allison’s appointment aligns with our strategy of building upon our strongest global core competencies in M&A," said Kevin Sheridan, leader of Mayer Brown’s global Corporate & Securities practice. “Her experience advising sophisticated insurance companies and financial institutions, as well as her work on behalf of PE sponsors is a perfect match for our M&A strategy across Asia.”

Commenting on her move, Allison said: "I am thrilled to be joining Mayer Brown, which is renowned for its distinctly global and collaborative M&A practice. The Firm has a long-standing commitment to Asia, with impressive capabilities across multiple practice areas that are highly complementary to my practice. I look forward to further helping our clients achieve their strategic corporate and investment objectives in the region."

Allison is the latest M&A partner to have joined Mayer Brown in Asia following the recent addition of Eiji Kobayashi in the Firm’s Tokyo office, and a team of English law and Singapore law qualified corporate lawyers in Singapore.

"We are delighted to welcome Allison to Mayer Brown. Her background and experience, particularly in insurance and private equity, when combined with the breadth and depth of our broader capabilities across the region will be of great value to our clients,” said Hannah Ha, Asia Chair.

Ms. Lee speaks Mandarin and is admitted to practice as an attorney in New York and as a solicitor in Hong Kong. A partner with Mayer Brown LLP, she will become a partner of Mayer Brown Hong Kong upon completion of the relevant requirements with the Law Society of Hong Kong.
