Mayer Brown expands International Arbitration practice with addition of David Weiss

Mayer Brown announced today that international arbitration lawyer David Weiss has joined the firm as a partner in Houston, further expanding the Houston office’s international arbitration bench. David joins from King & Spalding.

David’s background includes substantial experience in investor-state arbitrations, commercial disputes in Latin America and international arbitrations among parties in the energy industry. He also has significant experience regarding post-M&A disputes. David’s strong language skills, which include fluency in Spanish and Portuguese, add flexibility for putting cross-office teams on complex matters across the firm’s global practice, including its offices in Houston, Brazil, London and Singapore.

David’s extensive experience in advocacy before international tribunals includes participating in proceedings before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the International Chamber of Commerce and the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague.
