Gretel Echarte named among “Latin America’s Rising Legal Stars” of 2024 by Latinvex

Mayer Brown senior associate Gretel Echarte was named to Latinvex’s 2024 list of “Latin America’s Rising Legal Stars.” The annual list honors 25 lawyers at international law firms doing business in the region. The criteria for selection was scope and prominence of work and future potential.

Gretel, who was born, raised and educated in Havana, Cuba, is a member of Mayer Brown’s Export Control & Sanctions practice in Washington DC . Gretel advises large LATAM companies and global companies doing business in the region on a wide range of sanctions and export controls matters including enforcement and investigations, compliance, licensing, and major deals involving project financing, public debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. A native Spanish speaker with a civil law degree from University of Barcelona, Spain, she routinely leverages her cultural background and understanding of the region to add value to her client engagements.
