Mayer Brown won two Deal of the Year awards at the IFLR Asia Pacific Awards 2024:
- High-Yield Deal of the Year for PT Medco Energi Internasional's global bond deal, which was the first high-yield bond from Indonesia in 2023 and the only one successfully issued by an Indonesian company that year. Corporate & Securities partners Jason Elder (New York) and Nishrin Hussain (Hong Kong) led the Mayer Brown team representing the trustee in this transaction.
- Restructuring Deal of the Year, involving Sunac China Holding's $10 billion debt restructuring. IFLR noted the deal is the largest debt restructuring by a PRC real estate company to date, and is a landmark multi-jurisdictional restructuring, creating an important case study. Corporate & Securities partners Jason Elder (New York) and Nishrin Hussain (Hong Kong) led the team representing the trustee in this transaction.
