Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown advises Bunge Global on sale of ownership share in sugar and bioenergy joint venture in Brazil
Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown alongside the New York and London offices of Mayer Brown advised Bunge, a major player in the agribusiness and food industry, on its definitive agreement to sell 50% of Bunge's holding interest in BP Bunge Bioenergia to BP, its joint venture partner, and this transaction is projected to yield net revenues approaching US$800 million.
At closing, which is expected to happen in the fourth quarter of 2024, BP will become sole owner of the industrial scale sugarcane and ethanol business, enabling BP to accelerate value creation through integration with bp’s trading and technology capabilities.
Partners Christian Roschmann and Lilian Toscani led the team, which included partners José Paulo Marzagão, Francisco Todorov and Adriana Giannini, counsel Jessica Nunes de Queiroz, and associates Stefano Braga, André Pini, Maria Lellis, Isabella Giorgi and Luiz Antonio Bonfiglioli Menezes, with support from partner Joseph Castelluccio and associate Karen Chong, both from Mayer Brown's New York office, as well as associate Daniel Fahey from Mayer Brown's London office.
