Tauil & Chequer Advogados welcomes Alexandre Arlota as partner in its Global Energy practice

Rio de Janeiro – Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown is pleased to announce the addition of Alexandre Arlota as partner in its Global Energy practice in Brazil. Alexandre specializes in construction with a focus on energy and infrastructure projects, and will further strengthen Tauil & Chequer Advogados’ capabilities in these industries. He joins from Mattos Filho.

”Alexandre will bring valuable expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts for both greenfield and brownfield projects,” said Alexandre Chequer, global head of Mayer Brown’s Energy practice. “Having a professional renowned for handling highly complex contracts enhances our ability to serve our clients in global projects of energy and infrastructure.”

Alexandre brings over 20 years of experience, having worked at renowned law firms in Brazil and abroad, leading numerous projects in the energy, oil and gas, shipbuilding, logistics (i.e., airports, railways, ports, highways, and urban mobility), steelmaking, mining, and sanitation sectors.

Alexandre has also built a robust academic career. He has served as a professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and the State University of Rio de Janeiro. He currently coordinates postgraduate courses at the University of São Paulo and is the author of well-regarded legal publications frequently cited by courts and regulators.
