Chris Fellowes specifically deals with transactional construction and engineering matters including procurement and tender issues. He acts for employers, contractors, developers and funders. His experience comprises drafting, advising and negotiating on all aspects of national and international construction and engineering contracts using both bespoke and standard forms of contracts such as FIDIC, IChemE, NEC, MF/1 and JCT. Chris has advised on large and complex UK and international projects including the expansion of a major maritime project in Central America, the design and construction of a 700-million-cubic-metre gas-storage facility in the United Kingdom, the development of the mining industry in Afghanistan, a substantial mixed-use regeneration project in London and a number of CHP plants in West Africa. Chris is also a founding member of Mayer Brown’s Public Procurement Group in London and is a member of the Procurement Lawyers’ Association.

  • Advising a bank on the re-development of it existing offices at various locations in the UK including the drafting of bespoke consultants’ appointments, design and build contracts based on JCT and a management contract based on JCT with a lump sum conversion mechanism.
  • Advising a developer in relation to two residential towers in the UK including the drafting of a number of design and build contracts based on JCT.
  • Drafting of a multi-national company’s bespoke precedent form of construction contract for world-wide use.
  • Drafting and negotiating a construction management agreement and related construction contracts for the re-development of a bank’s headquarters in the UK.
