Sean Hummerstone helps clients with drafting, negotiation and advice in relation to high-value domestic and international construction and engineering projects. He acts for a range of project parties including developers, funders, contractors and consultants.
Clients look to Sean for his experience in dealing with a variety of contract forms, including complex bespoke agreements as well industry standard forms such as JCT, FIDIC and NEC contracts. He advises clients on contract formation as well as matters of interpretation and settlement of disputes, including the development of remedial schemes in the UK related to fire safety issues.

- Drafting and negotiating consultants’ appointments in relation to the base build and fit out of a UK research facility for an AIM-listed pharmaceuticals company, using IChemE forms of contract.
- Assisting in advice on the underlying construction documentation relating to the £105m purchase of Old Spitalfields Market, London.
- Assisting in advising a Spanish real estate investment fund in litigation concerning breaches of loan documentation in the construction of a London hotel (Grupo Hotelero Urvasco S.A. v Carey Value Added S.L. & Anor).
