Mercy McBrayer is a global international arbitration professional at Mayer Brown and a member of both the International Arbitration practice and the Global Knowledge Management team.

Mercy supports the firm’s lawyers practicing in international arbitration keeping them apprised of significant developments in the industry globally. She assists in implementing projects in knowledge management, including thought leadership, lawyer and client training, and maintaining the firm’s knowledge resources on international arbitration. She supports marketing and business development activities in international arbitration through drafting client alerts and assisting with international arbitration related events.

Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Mercy trained in international arbitration in a leading firm in Dubai and was a lawyer in arbitration and dispute resolution in Dallas, Texas, advising on a variety of commercial matters and representing clients in litigation and both ad hoc and institutional arbitrations before the ICC, AAA-ICDR, JAMS, LCIA, and SCC. She also serves as the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators’ Head of Arbitration Professional Practice where she is an editor for the peer reviewed journal Arbitration and a regular observer to UNCITRAL Working Group III on ISDS Reform. She has served as a teaching fellow in the Queen Mary University of London LLM programme in International and Comparative Dispute Resolution and has 10 years’ experience coaching and advising teams in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
