Daniel Pearson helps clients comply with a wide range of state and federal consumer and commercial financial services regulatory laws. Dan advises banks, nonbanks, fintechs and investors on compliance with laws regulating the origination, brokering, servicing, debt collection, and secondary market acquisition of mortgage and non-mortgage secured and unsecured financing products. Clients often turn to Dan for his state licensing experience, spanning over 14 years. Dan has been at the forefront of the firm’s work advising commercial financing clients on the recent wave of state small business financing disclosure and registration laws. He also conducts due diligence reviews of fintechs and marketplace lending programs for “true lender,” licensing and usury risk and contract enforceability. Before and during law school, Dan worked as a Regulatory Compliance Analyst in Mayer Brown’s Consumer Financial Services practice.
