In light of the global COVID-19 situation, the Hong Kong Government has strengthened the health quarantine arrangements for travellers entering the territory. All travellers, whether they are residents or not, are required to undergo a 14-day compulsory quarantine upon entering Hong Kong. A summary is as follows:
Compulsory Quarantine at Quarantine Centre | Compulsory Home Quarantine |
People arriving in Hong Kong who have been to the following countries/areas in the past 14 days (updated on 18 March 2020 and effective until further notice)
|
People arriving in Hong Kong on or before 18 March 2020 who have been to the following countries/areas in the past 14 days
People arriving in Hong Kong on or after 19 March 2020 who have been to the following countries/areas in the past 14 days (updated on 18 March 2020 and effective until further notice)
|
Individuals who are subject to compulsory home quarantine are required to stay at home at all times during the 14-day period. The Government will ensure that these individuals stay at home by spot checks and telephone calls.
Currently, there are no restrictions on individuals who live in the same household with those who are subject to compulsory quarantine. They are allowed to leave the household freely. It is, however, recommended that they measure their body temperature daily and report any symptoms of COVID-19 to the hotline provided by the Health Department.
