Two Mayer Brown lawyers named 2020 “Rising Stars” by Fund Finance Association
Mayer Brown announced that Banking & Finance associates Chris Ellis and Caitlin Woolford (both Charlotte) have been named 2020 “Rising Stars” by the Fund Finance Association. This annual award recognizes individuals for their outstanding contributions to the Fund Finance industry. The honorees were selected based on their professional contributions, with a focus on excellence in client service, product and service innovations, diversity and inclusion, career development, training and mentoring, networking and community service.
Mr. Ellis represents lenders in negotiating and documenting subscription credit facilities to private equity and real estate funds. Additionally, he actively serves the community by participating in a pro bono clinic, where he drafts wills for senior citizens. At the firm, Mr. Ellis is a member of the Recruiting Committee, participating in the recruiting and interviewing process for both new and lateral associates joining Mayer Brown.
Ms. Woolford focuses her practice on fund finance and has significant experience representing lenders in negotiating and documenting subscription credit facilities to private equity and real estate funds. At the firm, Ms. Woolford plays an active role in training and mentoring the new associates and staff in fund finance. She has also served as a co-chair of the Charlotte Women's Forum at Mayer Brown since 2015, planning networking opportunities and client events to support women in their careers. Outside the firm, she is a member of the junior committee of Women in Fund Finance.
