Mayer Brown partner Jared Goldberger appointed to IRS Advisory Council

Mayer Brown partner Jared Goldberger has been appointed as a member of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council (IRSAC). Jared is among the 18 new members who will provide the agency and its leaders with recommendations and insights on various issues related to tax administration.

Jared counsels US and non-US banks, trust companies, investment funds, and other financial institutions with respect to all US information reporting and withholding issues, as well as tax aspects of cross-border and domestic financing transactions. His extensive expertise has earned him recognition as an authority on both domestic and international tax matters.

Jared will begin serving a three-year term on the IRSAC, where he will offer guidance and insight on critical tax policy and administrative issues that impact the nation's tax system.
The IRSAC serves as an advisory body to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue, providing an organized public forum for discussion of relevant tax administration issues between IRS officials and representatives of the public.
