Geral

Ben's practice covers a broad range of construction-related dispute resolution. He advises employers, contractors and consultants engaged in various dispute resolution processes, including arbitrations under different rules, litigation in the High Court and other forms of ADR. Ben has particular experience of concurrently handling upstream and downstream issues on complex construction projects and his work is regularly related to delay, negligence and contractual entitlements.

Experiência

  • Representing a contractor and its insurers in pursuing eight subcontractors and consultants in relation to the allegedly defective design and construction of a large mixed-use development in North London.  The case (Shepherd Construction Limited v Kingspan and others) involved unprecedented causes of action brought under the Building Safety Act 2022 against a cladding manufacturer and was listed as one of the Top 20 Cases of 2024 by The Lawyer.
  • Advising a Korean EPC contractor in relation to its contractual entitlements and claims arising from work on a major energy project in South-East Asia
  • Advising the operator of a West African offshore gas project on the legitimacy of various alleged entitlements to time and money under an EPC Contract.
  • Representing one of the UK’s largest asset managers in pursuing substantial claims against its professional team and development manager following significant delay and cost overruns during the redevelopment of a UK town centre.
  • Advising a contractor in relation to the inadequate supply of key resources and information by a subcontractor during the ongoing construction of a nuclear waste treatment plant.
