Nic guides his clients through all aspects of the international trade regulatory ecosystem, including licensing, deal due diligence, compliance, investigations, disclosures, and monitoring. He assists clients of all sizes in varied business sectors, including defense/aerospace, data storage, manufacturing, contracting, consulting, investment banking, and technology development.
Before joining Mayer Brown, Nic clerked at another prominent international law firm in Washington, and interned at the US Departments of State (Directorate of Defense Trade Controls), Justice (Counterintelligence and Export Control Section), and Defense (Defense Technology Security Administration). Before starting his legal career, he served for twelve years as an active duty Navy helicopter pilot, including six deployments and tours stationed at the Pentagon and abroad.
