  • A Mexican global concrete and building materials company, claimant in a multi-party and multi-contract ICC arbitration seated in Mexico City against special purpose vehicles associated with a Mexican infrastructure fund manager and the subsidiaries of a US renewable energy group. The dispute arises from the construction and development of two photovoltaic power plants located in the Mexican state of Zacatecas. Mexican law is applicable to the merits of the dispute and English and Spanish are the languages of the proceedings.
  • Several investment funds associated with one of the three largest investment companies in the world, claimants in a CAM/B3 arbitration seated in Sao Paulo against Brazil’s largest state-owned company. The dispute relates to certain rights of the claimants’ as minority shareholders of the respondent under Brazilian Capital Markets/Corporations law. Brazilian law is applicable to the merits of the dispute and English and Portuguese are the languages of the proceedings.
  • A Brazilian leading sewage and water treatment services company, counterclaim respondent in a CAM-CCBC arbitration seated in Sao Paulo against a rival Brazilian sewage and water treatment services company. The dispute arises from a share purchase agreement through which respondent acquired claimant’s participating interest in the company who holds concessions rights for sewage services in a relevant city in the North Region of Brazil. Brazilian law is applicable to the merits of the dispute and Portuguese is the language of the proceedings. Prior to the arbitration, Lucas represented the client in an application for injunctive relief filed by the claimant before the Sao Paulo State Courts.
  • The Brazilian subsidiary of global leader in the agribusiness and food processing industry in several lawsuits before the State Courts of Paraná and Rio de Janeiro against two Brazilian rivals in the food processing industry, both under judicial reorganization. The dispute relates to several contracts concerning the rights over two state-of-the-art non-genetically-modified soy bean processing plants located in Paraná, Brazil.
