Gabrielle to co-lead firm’s Employment Litigation & Counseling practice
New York, June 18, 2024 – Mayer Brown announced that trial lawyer Gabrielle Levin has joined the New York office as a partner, where she will co-lead the firm’s Employment Litigation & Counseling practice. Gabrielle brings extensive experience representing corporate clients in employment and complex commercial litigation matters. She joins from Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
“Gabby is a first-rate, first-chair trial lawyer who has led some of the most high-profile employment-related cases in recent years and brings meaningful strength to our employment litigation capabilities,” said Richard Spehr, global leader of Mayer Brown’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution practice. “Gabby handles sensitive matters that demand C-Suite focus, particularly in the financial services sector—a key strength of our firm. Her expertise greatly enhances our crisis management practice, currently representing top corporate officers in significant disputes. Moreover, she complements our investigations and regulatory enforcement team, especially in internal HR investigations.”
Gabrielle’s practice spans nearly two decades. She defends employers in Sarbanes-Oxley and other whistleblower protection litigation, discrimination and retaliation claims, executive compensation disputes, restrictive covenant and trade secret litigation, and wage and hour class actions. She has first-chaired jury trials in federal court and led the defense of employers in arbitrations. Gabrielle also has significant experience representing public companies in class actions.
“The firm's esteemed litigation reputation, which I have witnessed firsthand while serving as co-counsel in several cases, along with its supportive culture of collaboration, impressive financial services industry expertise, and international strength, are ideal for enhancing my practice and driving business opportunities,” said Gabrielle. “I’m looking forward to building out the firm’s employment litigation capabilities and collaborating with my new colleagues to advise clients on their most complex, cross-border litigation matters.”
Gabrielle is active in the community. She currently serves on the board of directors of The HOPE Program, a non-profit focused on empowering New Yorkers to overcome poverty though skills training, jobs, and career advancement.
“Gabby is renowned in the New York legal scene for her exceptional experience in trying intricate employment cases,” said Matthew Ingber, managing partner of Mayer Brown's New York office. “Gabby's addition to our firm is a clear indication of our commitment to developing a versatile practice in New York, tailored to meet the evolving demands of our clientele and the dynamic nature of today’s legal environment.”
