REVERSEinquiries Workshop: NAIC-related Developments for the Structured Investments Community

Recent meetings of the NAIC’s Statutory Accounting Principles (E) Working Group and Valuation of Securities (E) Task Force have considered a number of initiatives that will be of interest to the structured investments community.  We provide some background on each of these and discuss the recent developments and what you can expect regarding the following: 

• An Issue Paper on securities that the NAIC Securities Valuation Office regards as “Bespoke Securities”
• A proposed Issue Paper on revisions to the treatment of loan-backed and structured securities under SSAP 43R
• The appropriate treatment for “non-conforming” Credit Tenant Leases
